For too long, unaccountable institutions have hidden behind Article 10 of the Human Rights Act (Freedom of Expression) to justify destroying lives. The press uses it as a shield to print whatever generates clicks, while state institutions fail in their duty of care.
I am championing the Celebrity Protection Law (the Caroline Flack Law) to criminalize media harassment and institutional overreach. We will enforce the rest of the Human Rights Act:
