A justice system is judged by what it does to the person with the least power in the room. On that test, ours is failing at both ends — victims wait years for a hearing, and the wrong people get processed by it.
This is the part of the platform closest to the core mandate. The Celebrity Protection Law and the All Citizens Protection Law are, at bottom, arguments about Article 6 — the right to a fair trial — and about what happens when a case is decided in a newsroom before a jury ever hears the facts.
But Article 6 is not only breached by tabloids. It is breached by a listing office that cannot offer a trial date inside two years, by a defendant held on remand longer than their eventual sentence, and by a complainant who withdraws because they cannot keep their life on hold any longer.
Visible neighbourhood policing in a constituency with a nightlife economy, stop-and-search accountability, and an end to police data reaching newsrooms.

Read the commitmentsThis constituency is policed by both the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police, and it contains Parliament, the West End, the financial district and some of the densest residential streets in the country. Almost nobody's experience of crime here looks like the national average.
Residents living above the night-time economy deal with a different set of problems from residents in the City on a Sunday, and both are usually discussed as though the other does not exist.
Phone snatching, shoplifting, e-bike theft, antisocial behaviour and street-level harassment share one feature: residents have learned that reporting them changes nothing, so many stop reporting. The figures then improve.
The commitment is to publish what is actually happening at ward level — reports made, outcomes reached, cases closed with no suspect identified — so the gap between recorded crime and lived experience is visible rather than argued about.
Fair trial rights, press accountability and protection from institutional overreach are core mandate: the position is fixed and was on the ballot. Police numbers, sentencing severity, drug policy and prison capacity sit outside that core — and on those, the constituency decides and this seat votes as the majority directs.
